These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GuoTalk mobile application ("App") operated by GuoTalk ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
GuoTalk is a Mandarin Chinese language learning application. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
You may use the App as a guest or create an account with your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
GuoTalk offers optional paid subscriptions ("GuoTalk Pro") that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. By subscribing, you agree to the payment terms of the relevant app store.
The App uses artificial intelligence services, including Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Azure Speech Services, and Higgsfield AI, to power conversation practice, pronunciation assessment, and character imagery. These features are provided on an "as is" basis. AI-generated responses are for language learning purposes only and should not be relied upon for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
Voice recordings you make during pronunciation practice are sent to Microsoft Azure for real-time assessment and are not stored by us. By using these features, you consent to this processing.
Fictional AI characters. The conversation partners you meet in the App's Talk feature are fictional AI characters. They are not real people. Their portrait images were generated by Higgsfield AI; their replies are generated by Anthropic Claude; their voices are synthesized by Microsoft Azure. Any resemblance between an AI-generated character and a real person, living or deceased, is unintentional. If you believe a character image materially resembles a real person, please use the in-app "Report this character" flow on the character's profile, or contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of these Terms. We aim to review reports within 5 business days.
This disclosure is provided in compliance with Kazakhstan's Law on Artificial Intelligence (effective January 2026) and with Apple App Store and Google Play policies on generative AI features.
All content in the App — including text, audio, graphics, lesson content, and the GuoTalk name and logo — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any App content without our prior written permission.
The App does not currently allow you to post or share public content. Any voice recordings you make are processed in real time and not stored or shared. If we introduce user-generated content features in the future, additional terms will apply.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Language learning outcomes depend on individual effort and practice — we make no guarantees about fluency or proficiency results.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuoTalk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
